Welcome
Welcome to the Queen Mary Elementary School Parental Advisory Committee (PAC)! We appreciate your visit to learn more about our school and how parents are involved in supporting our children, teachers, staff, and administrators through the PAC.
As part of our annual activities, we support social events, community fundraisers, extracurricular activities, teacher and staff appreciation, and opportunities for parental learning.
If you have a child at Queen Mary Elementary, we would love to get you involved! Please never hesitate to reach out with ideas or questions.
What is a PAC?
A Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is the Ministry of Education's officially recognized voice of parents at schools, providing an opportunity for parents and guardians to advise on school programs, policies, plans and activities.
Who are members?
All parents and guardians of children in our school are automatically members of the Parent Advisory Council and are entitled to attend meetings and vote. The principal or vice principal will be a member (ex officio) of the Parent Advisory Council. A teacher representative will be appointed and may also attend the meetings to provide information, answer questions, and discuss all school matters and parental concerns, except personnel.
PAC Executive Committee
The PAC Executive Committee is elected by the PAC annually and includes term limits for each role to encourage new parents to get involved and bring their energy and expertise to the school.

PAC Meetings
Meetings occur monthly - usually on the second Tuesday or Wednesday of the month. For the last school year, PAC meetings were held virtually. For this school year, we are going to explore having both a virtual and in-person meeting option.
PAC meetings are an opportunity to discuss current projects, upcoming events, funding requests, and meet the community.
