Welcome and Welcome Back to New and Returning Students of Queen Mary Elementary 
We are so happy to be having the school year starting this Monday September 22nd.  As in previous years, the first day back for returning and new students in Grades 1-7 will be from 9am – 10am.  Students will return to last year’s classroom for the first day. All Kindergarten students will be in their classrooms from 10:30 until 11am.The teachers and the administration are all very excited to be getting started and are looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday. Coffee will be available for everyone, so spend the hour reconnecting with all your Queen Mary friends while you wait for your children.

On Tuesday, grades 1-7 students should go to the classrooms as indicated on the temporary lists posted outside on the board. All kindergarten students know their teacher and classroom and will proceed with their gradual entry schedule. The school is planning on getting the children into their final classrooms as quickly as possible once attendance at Queen Mary is confirmed on Monday.

Also on Tuesday a very important package will be going home with all of the children. It will have the forms required for the coming year. The lice screening consent form is in this package and needs to be returned back to the school officeby Friday September 26th with the $10.00 fee enclosed (cash or cheque payable toQueen Mary PAC). The screenings start on Wednesday October 1st so your prompt action is required to enable us to get your child(ren) screened. We have attached a copy of the form to this link http://www.queenmarypac.com/news/lice-screening-forms-due-sept-26th as well so if you can print it off and bring it in on Monday with your payment, even better.

Thank you for your prompt response to this, as with the later start we are tight for timing for this important screening.

This year Queen Mary Elementary is one of a few schools who are online with respect to school announcements, online payments, news and class information, permission form approval and more. The school will be sending out more information on this in the packages.

Payment for all PAC related events and activities however will not be able to be done on this system, only school initiated ones.

Please look for the cards on Monday provided by the PAC that provide you with information on how to register online so as to stay connected to both PAC and School Activities and Events. We have indicated a place on the card for you to keep your child’s pupil # as this will be important with the new online system offered by the school.

The Pizza Night and first PAC meeting is tentatively booked for Tuesday September 30th at 5:30pm. We will confirm this with a pizza order form on Tuesday September 23rdWe need to ensure that the Professional Development days scheduled for September 29th and 30th are postponed first. The school will confirm back to us on Monday their decision so check the website for updates and look for the notice on Tuesday.

A short newsletter from your PAC will also go home on Tuesday on the back of the Pizza form and the website will be updated as we learn more so please check it often. Again Welcome Back to School and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday!
